The ZESCO board has allowed the utility company’s managing director Victor Mapani to proceed on leave pending the expiration of his contract on December 2, this year.

Mr. Mapani was on a three year contract after his appointment as managing director in 2021.

ZESCO board chairperson Vickson Ncube confirmed the development in a statement yesterday, stating that the board has since appointed company director transmission, operations and trade Justine Loongo to act managing director.

“The board would like to thank Mr. Mapani for his service to ZESCO and the country in general and wish him all the best in his future endeavors’”he said.
