Osten Mumba of ZNS Camp in Choma has tragically died following a road traffic accident on September 8, 2024, around 21:00 hours.
He sustained head injuries, a suspected fractured left hand, and a cut on the forehead.
The deceased, whose age was yet to be confirmed at the time of publishing, reportedly overturned his Toyota Vesta vehicle due to excessive speed.
The accident occurred off Great North Road along Sibanyati Road near a network tower in Choma.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, noted that Mumba was pronounced dead upon arrival at Choma General Hospital.
Also involved in the accident was a passenger, 23-year-old Brian Jabasa, also of ZNS Camp.
Jabasa sustained chest pains, a headache, and a painful left shoulder.
He is currently admitted to Choma General Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The vehicle involved in the accident had its windscreen shattered and sustained damage to both front fenders, the rear bumper, headlamps, and side view mirrors.
