The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has commended journalists for their role in promoting transparency and tax compliance, saying media reporting strengthens the economy and governance.
ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala said the authority values the media’s contribution to accountability and public awareness on taxation.
“Your reporting ensures that public resources are used effectively and that revenue systems are fair and efficient,” Nzala said. “Your work supports compliance, integrity, and trust in the Zambian tax administration.”
Nzala said ZRA recognises the press as a key partner in strengthening public understanding of the importance of paying taxes.
“On this World Press Freedom Day, we reaffirm our partnership with you and will continue providing capacity through the ZRA Media Workshops and regular engagements,” he said.
Nzala added that an informed public on tax matters helps boost revenue collection and national development.
