A 10 year old boy of Isoka District is nursing gun shot wounds after being shot at by unknown person on Saturday.

The shooting happened around 12:00 hrs in Mupapa Village when the victim Esau Simwanza also grade two in company of his 8 year old Cousin and three others went hunting mice in the area.

Muchinga Police Commanding Officer Kaunda Mubanga told ISOFM NEWS that whilst hunting a gunshot was head sooner after that, the victim discovered that he was shot on his left arm and had bruises on the back.

Mr Mubanga explained that his friends then rushed him home and narrated to his uncle what had happened.

His uncle then rushed him to Katyetye Health post for medical treatment where he was treated as an outdoor patient and the condition has been described to be stable.

When the matter was reported to Police , officers visited the victim but they could not proceed to the crime Scene as it was dark.

The docket of the case has been opened and investigations instituted.

The motive of the shooting is not yet known.
