A 26-year-old mobile booth agent from Malango Village in Isoka District has been found dead in a bush after going missing for about three weeks.
Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Lubinda Mayamba has confirmed the incident, saying the body of Kelvin Simukoko was discovered on Sunday, September 20, 2026, by an eight-year-old boy who was hunting in the area.
Mr Mayamba says police found the body lying on the ground in an advanced state of decomposition.
He says Simukoko had gone missing on August 31, 2026, after leaving home without informing his brother, who was visiting Isoka for a workshop.
The Police Commissioner says investigations have established that Simukoko had been involved in gambling and had accumulated debts amounting to 21,000 Kwacha, which were settled by his elder brother.

Mr Mayamba says the brother also gave Simukoko an additional 5,000 Kwacha to invest in his mobile booth business, but later discovered that he had continued gambling and accumulated more debts.
The body was identified by Simukoko’s uncle using the grey jersey he was last seen wearing.
Police have since handed over the body to the family for burial, but the relatives have been advised to mark the grave to allow for possible exhumation as investigations continue to establish the actual cause of death.
An inquiry file has been opened and investigations are continuing.
