MR JEROME of the JA Crew a music movement sat with us to discuss a number of issues in the entertainment industry in Zambia.
He spoke to us and said music in the country has drastically changed to international level.
ZED GOSSIP: Share with us your relationship with former artists on your crew whom you once supported?
JEROME: We have a good relationship with every artist be it current or former. But I want to make it clear that our relationships with others may seem rocky based on how one left our crew/record label. I will mention some like Cap10 Kay, Trey Jones, Izzi, Benjamin Roots,swager, y cool, and Stamina we have a good relationship with them.
ZED GOSSIP: How does the JA Crew help artists achieve their goals in music?

JEROME: Once an artist gets lucky to join us, we make sure we help with studio time, music video shoot, transport, artworks, promotion on TV/radio among other things. We also ensure that some of these artists feature well established artists. An example is DMB kleshkid he featured Yomaps. And we did others feat with artist like stevo, drifta trek, dizmo, dope Boyz, 408 empire, kekero, t-Sean, nez Long and many more
ZED GOSSIP: What made some of your members to leave if this is the great works you have done for some? And how many are remaining?
JEROME: It’s unfortunate that some of them would feel more comfortable with what we did for them especially for upcoming artists. Others became relaxed if our input was 60% they couldn’t do their part. This resulted in some becoming frustrated like they can not make it in music which is sad and put the blame on our crew/label.
ZED GOSSIP: Are there any artists you currently have on your label?
JEROME: Yes, though we don’t have contracts with them as they have shares in the JA Crew and these are Ziggy and Elly.
ZED GOSSIP: How do you produce the music ?
JEROME: For production we use different studios. We work a lot with Emmz Studio, Raindrop, Mzenga Man, TSean, Kekero, Jayder, Lex and Ronny, silent erazer, C. O. G, DRE and many more.
