MPS TO ATTEND KUOMBOKA
SPEAKER of the National Assembly, Nelly Mutti, is scheduled to lead a bi-partisan delegation of Members of Parliament to attend this year’s Kuomboka Ceremony on April 20, 2024 in Western Province.
The development has been confirmed in a statement issued by Senior Media Liaison Officer at the National Assembly of Zambia, Nshamba Muzungu.
Muzungu describes the Kuomboka Ceremony of the Lozi people as one of Zambia’s spectacular traditional ceremonies which attracts tourists from all over the World.
The Kuomboka Ceremony, which translates to getting out of the water onto higher ground, marks the annual migration of the Lozi King, the Litunga, from the floodplains of the Barotse plain to the higher grounds of Limulunga.
