…… Emmanuel Kafula is the Bus Driver who was carrying a nurse that gave first aid to Rainford Kalaba at the accident scene.
EMMANUEL Kafula, popularly known as “Bashi Emma” is a humble bus driver, who proved his selfless nature when he agreed to wait for a nurse who was attending to a critically injured Chipolopolo striker, Rainford Kalaba after a fatal road accident in Kafue a fortnight ago.
While the world praised the quick actions and medical expertise of the nurse, Emmanuel Kafula’s story remained untold.
Despite the pressures of his job and the need to keep his schedule on track, Kafula chose to prioritize the well-being of a stranger in need.
Investigative Journalist, Oswald Sichone, was determined to shine a light on this unsung hero.
Through his investigations, Sichone discovered that Kafula had a reputation for kindness and generosity among his passengers.
Many spoke of his willingness to go out of his way to help those in need, often offering free rides to the less fortunate.
When Sichone finally tracked down Kafula, the modest driver simply stated, “I couldn’t just leave the nurse and the injured man behind. They needed help, and I was in a position to offer it. It was the right thing to do.”
Kafula’s story serves as a reminder that acts of kindness and selflessness do not always come with fanfare or recognition.
