A CHURCH elder who confessed to pecking a married woman escaped the punishment for attempted adultery after the woman told Matero Local Court that the two had no intentions of committing adultery.
Fidelis Mweene, 41, was dragged to court by Teddy Lufwendo for attempting to commit adultery with his wife, Gift Nakanyika, aged 36.
The court heard that Mweene is a church elder at Kabanana Hilltop Seventh-day Adventist Church and a director of the choir, which Nakanyika is part of.
Lufwendo told the court that two months ago some elders at their church informed him that there was a case of suspected adultery within church without telling him that it involved his wife.
