POLICE officers have closed in on Prince Kaumba, an ex‑convict infamously known as Junior, who has been on their radar for some time over burglary, theft, and assault occasioning bodily harm.

Acting on tip‑offs from residents who had grown weary of his reign of fear, officers cornered and arrested him yesterday, around 16:00 hours.

Kaumba is now in police custody pending formal charges.

Zambia Police Service spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi confirmed the arrest.

“The suspect, identified as Prince Kaumba, commonly known as Junior, was apprehended following a tip‑off from members of the public,” said Chilabi.

Residents of Garden Compound and neighbouring communities had long complained about Kaumba’s activities but they now breathe a sigh of relief.

“The Zambia Police Service appeals to anyone who may have fallen victim to the suspect to come forward for identification,” said Chilabi.

Members of the public are encouraged to report to Emmasdale Police Station to assist with ongoing investigations and any additional charges arising from previous complaints.
