Governance Accountability Initiative Executive Director Gabriel Mailo has praised Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo for inspecting the Ndola–Sakania Road and demanding corrections.

Mailo said the minister’s action reflects high-quality leadership and responsiveness to the concerns of citizens.

He argued that engineers from the Road Development Agency and other wings should have been proactive instead of waiting for the minister to act.

Mailo stressed that such lapses in supervision weaken public trust in infrastructure projects.

He emphasised that contractors must always deliver durable and quality work on government projects.

Mailo noted that accountability in road construction is essential because citizens deserve value for money.

He said the minister’s intervention shows the kind of leadership that should be replicated across all levels of governance.
