The Zambia Association of Musicians has expressed deep gratitude to musician Chama Fumba for his remarkable act of friendship and solidarity following the death of fellow artist Chiko Wise.
In a statement, ZAM revealed that Pilato has volunteered to cover the full cost of the casket for the late Chiko Wise, describing the gesture as selfless and timely. The association noted that Pilato’s support has brought relief to both the grieving family and the wider music community as preparations continue to give the artiste a dignified send-off.
ZAM further announced that an artistic memorial send-off will be held in Lusaka to allow Lusaka-based musicians and fans who may not manage to travel to the Copperbelt to celebrate and honour the life of Chiko Wise.
The send-off will take place today, Thursday 26th March, 2026, at The Lusaka Playhouse, from 09:00 hours to 12:00 hours. Artists and members of the public have been encouraged to attend and pay their last respects.
Meanwhile, ZAM confirmed that the official funeral house is in Chingola at 24 Chisungusho Road, Kabundi East, and burial will take place on Saturday 28th March, 2026, at Chingola Town Central Cemetery.
