Patriotic Front (PF) Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has condemned the reported blocking of PF and Pamodzi Alliance President Makebi Zulu from leaving the country at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport earlier today.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Sampa described the reported incident as unacceptable, stressing that Makebi Zulu, like any other citizen, has the right to travel freely without unnecessary restrictions.
“We condemn the reported blocking of Hon Makebi Zulu at KK international airport. Like every citizen, he is free to leave the Country as he pleases for his schedules,”
Sampa wrote.
He further emphasised that Makebi Zulu holds a valid passport and does not require any special permission to travel outside the country.
“He has a valid passport & no law requires him to seek permission to travel,” he added.
The reported incident has sparked debate on social media, with many Zambians raising concerns about the freedom of movement and the treatment of political figures at national entry and exit points.
As of now, authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the matter.
