Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions will co-promote a major international championship bout with South Africa’s Golden Gloves Promotions on 25 July 2026 at Government Complex in Lusaka.

The event will feature Zambian boxer David “Sniper” Mwale against Charlton Malajika, the promotion confirmed Sunday following meetings with World Boxing Council and African Boxing Union officials in South Africa.

The two fighters held their official face-to-face meeting during the trip, marking the start of the build-up to the fight.

Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions manager Chris Malunga said the meetings with WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, ABU President and WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi, and Dr. Peter Ngatane were “very detailed, open-minded, and productive,” and reflected a shared vision for growing African boxing.

“As a promoter, my loyalty is to the ABU and the WBC because they truly mean well for African boxing and African fighters,” Malunga added.

Malunga led the delegation to South Africa alongside Mwale, coach Michael Zulu, and Oriental Quarries Director Ahmed Saadi.
