Some public sector unions have written to Government requesting for a meeting to discuss suspension of the debt swap initiative which was introduced by the previous regime.
The initiative gave Government workers a three-month freeze on loan deductions to allow for the reconciliation process and establish how many public workers owe financial institutions.
However, Vice-President W.K Mutale-Nalumango recently announced that the programme had been suspended to enable Government understand and restructure it, if possible.
