SOME traders at Choma’s famous Dingama Market have continued the illegal selling of meat products despite several warnings and confiscation of the products by the Local Authority.

Last week, the Choma Municipal Council engaged the traders at Dingama market to stop selling uncertified meat due to the anthrax outbreak.

Despite these warnings, a Check by Byta FM News on Monday found the traders back in the business of selling meat.

Efforts to engage the traders by Byta FM News failed as the sellers avoided to be interviewed.

And Choma Municipal Council Public Relations Officer Kameko Manda said the Local Authority has tried to engage the traders to stop the illegal selling of uncertified meat but to no avail.
Manda disclosed that by Monday afternoon the Local Authority managed to confiscate meat from two traders in the area.

Manda has since cautioned that the Local Authority will not hesitate to enforce the law on traders who will continue to trade in uncertified meat products.
