It’s throwback Thursday!
When I was working on my first album, I was also working on my first tertiary qualification.

Sometimes, we study to fulfill the wishes of our parents while other times, we study to fulfill our own dreams and aspirations. When I was at NIPA, I was studying Marketing (CIM) because my uncle who was sponsoring me suggested it. In 2007, I finally got a chance to study what I truly love (Social Work).

Today as I reflect on how far I have come, I realize that the things I learned in both Marketing and Social Work combined with the exposure I get from traveling and networking have shaped my life. The lesson here is that we all need some form of education, be it formal or informal regardless of the path we choose to take afterwards.

Not everyone can have the opportunity to pursue formal education but we can all aspire to educate ourselves today in one way or another in order to be better than we were yesterday. Even hustlers acquire education in form of exposure and experience through the ‘University of Life’.
