BIBLE STUDY LEADS TO DEFILEMENT
A pastor aged 60 of a Pentecostal church in Nampundwe District is alleged to have been using Bible study sessions with a 12-year-old girl at his house and farm to defile her after enticing her with freezits.
Pastor Wycliffe Kamando is alleged to have defiled the Grade Four girl on three different occasions at his house and in the maize field at his farm.
Pastor Kamando, who also runs a children’s ministry, was arrested and charged with defilement.
Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, a relative of the victim, and Nampundwe village chairman Andrew Kasoma confirmed the incident in separate interviews yesterday.
Mr Mwale said Shibuyunji Police Station received one case of defilement on a child, contrary to the laws of Zambia.
He said the complainant, who is uncle of the victim, reported that the girl has been defiled by a person known to her who happens to be a pastor and can be easily identified if seen.
