Bride price lands man in court

A MAN of Mumbwa will have to work hard to find money to pay a balance of bride price amounting to K6,000 plus K200 in costs.

Bokie, 34, was dragged to court by his mother-in-law, Kayombo, 70, for failing to finish paying bride price three years after he married her daughter.

Bokie married Kayombo’s daughter in 2018 and was charged K7,000, out of which he paid K1,000 and remained with a balance of K6,000.

Kayombo wanted the court to compel Bokie to give her the balance because it was long overdue.
