Cabinet held its final meeting of the current term this afternoon, ahead of the general elections scheduled for 13 August 2026.

President Hakainde Hichilema thanked Ministers for their service to the people of Zambia, saying the administration had worked to stabilise the economy, restore institutions, and lay the foundation for future growth.

“Together we have done the hard work of stabilising our economy, restoring our institutions, and planting the seeds of a more prosperous nation,” President Hichilema said in a Facebook post after the meeting.

He acknowledged that progress had been made but said more work remained.

“Together, let’s deliver Zambia’s harvest,” he said.

The meeting marked the last scheduled Cabinet session before the dissolution of Parliament for the elections.
