A 30-year-old software Engineer has developed a mobile application which is able to warn relatives in real time when an epileptic person is having a seizure.

BRIGHT BWALYA, who is an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) graduate from the Copperbelt University (CBU), says he decided to develop the application after injuring himself during a seizure.

In an interview with ZNBC News at his house in Lusaka’s Kalingalinga Township, Mr BWALYA said seizures can lead to injuries and death if not well handled.

Last year, the International Bureau for Epilepsy awarded Mr. BWALYA with the International Golden Light Award for his innovation while in May this year, he received the Digital Accessibility and Assitive Innovations Award from Google and Meta.
