THE body of a Chinese national believed to be between 20 to 30 years old has been picked by police in Kalulushi’s St Marcelline.

Copperbelt police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba said the body of the unidentified victim was discovered on Monday around 06:00 hours.

He said the body, which was found on Chibuluma Road, was in a makeshift stall, facing upwards and hands tied to its back using a cable.

Mr Mweemba said the victim was also burnt with rubber mats and a motor manual book is suspected to have been used to ignite the fire.

“The victim was wearing grey trousers and checked boxer shorts,” he said.

Mr Mweemba said though the face was burnt, he can still be identified if seen by the people who know him better.

The body has been taken to Kitwe Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem and identification.

Police suspect foul play and are yet to establish the motive.
