Chasefu North independent Member of Parliament Captain Towani Chipeta says erratic water will be a thing of the past by the end of her tenure and a legacy will be created in Chasefu.
Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony at Parliament in Lusaka, she emphasised that her victory is evidence that any girl in the country can excel despite a difficult background.
Chipeta noted that it is now time to focus on change, specifically in education, health and road infrastructure, because Chasefu is a rural constituency.
She advanced that her independent status allows her to serve without political interference and her ultimate goal is to inspire young girls across the country.
Chipeta said the community has already given her the name Towani Maji, with maji being a Tumbuka word meaning water, because she has drilled 31 boreholes across Chasefu District in both north and south constituencies.

She emphasised that it is baby steps, so they first address basic needs and then move on to other needs.
Chipeta noted that by the end of her tenure, water and sanitation challenges will be a thing of the past.
She advanced that she is a symbol of democracy because she is purely independent and non-partisan.
Chipeta said leadership is possible for anyone regardless of their background.
She affirmed that providing equal opportunities remains a priority for her administration.
Chipeta emphasised that her victory serves as proof that determination can overcome any obstacle.
