Zambia National Soccer Team Head Coach Avram Grant says he is proud of his players despite the Chipolopolo suffering a first round exit at the ongoing Total Energies AFCON 2023 tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.

Grant says his team lost yesterday’s match to Morocco 1-0 due to lack of experience and failure to be clinical in front of goal.

Grant was speaking in a post match press conference following his team’s ejection from the tournament.

Meanwhile, Chipolopolo Captain Lubambo Musonda said his teammates will strive to work hard and qualify for next year’s AFCON tournament.

And Chipolopolo winger Klings Kangwa says though disappointed with the team’s first round exist at the tournament, the squad has learnt a lot of lessons.

And Moroccan defender Sofyan Amrabat who was voted Man of the Match described Zambia as a difficult opponent in the concluding Group F fixture despite winning the match.

And scores of Ivorian fans, many clad in Moroccan replica shirts thronged the streets of San Pedro following Zambia’s loss to Morocco as the Ivorian team qualified to the round of 16 as one of the third best placed teams in the tournament.
