Obsession for Tik Tok videos has resulted in the demotion of a female cop.

From a higher rank of traffic section, Constable Luyando Shonga will now be working at the inquiries office after her bosses at Liteta Central Police Station’s came across her dancing videos while in police uniform which circulated on the social media platform.

In a letter Liteta Central Police Station District Police Command has directed the officer in charge that Con/ Luyando Shonga must be charged with Discreditable conduct under CAP 107 of the Zambia Police Act and to as well under go the tribunal process as soon as possible.

“The Central Division High Command has observed with dismay the conduct of officer No.46913 W/Constable Luyando Shonga of Liteta Police Station circulating on TikTok social media whilst in police uniform on October 17, 2023” the letter partly said.

This conduct is believed to be discrediting to the integrity of the Zambia Police Service as an institution and put it’s name in disrupt to the general populace.

The District Command Officer has further directed that Shonga’s demotion should serve as a warning to other officers who may wish to conduct themselves in such a manner.
