A CHINESE Couple in Lusaka’s Mariandale, John Howard extension has been gruesomely murdered at their residence, bodies left in pool of blood.
Details of the incident are that, yesterday around 17:30 hours, the couple arrived home from their business at Kamwala Trading Centre.
At around 18:30 hours, an intruder broke into their house and brutally stabbed the couple before stealing an undisclosed amounts of money and car.
Police Spokesman Godfrey Chilabi has told TV Yatu in a statement that the incident was reported to Police this morning around 06:00 hours.
He says just after being notified of the incident, officers rushed to the scene and found bodies of the couple lying in a pool of blood.
“The bodies of Mr. Li Qingming aged 57 and his wife, Ms. Liu Jiaxi aged 55, both with multiple stab wounds, [were found]” Chilabi says.
He says the couple was fatally stabbed, and an undisclosed amount of money as well as their motor vehicle, a Toyota Harrier registration number BAH 9615 was later stolen.
“The bodies of the deceased have been deposited into the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination,” Chilabi shares.
Police have since apprehended a suspect who currently is in police custody.
