A 12-year-old Chirundu girl is receiving treatment in hospital for sexually transmitted infections after her 74-year-old step-father and 24-year-old step- brother took turns in defiling her.

Teachers at her school in Chirundu noticed that the girl, a Grade 3 pupil, was exhibiting strange behaviour in class.

When the teacher went close to her, the girl was smelling badly while further investigations revealed that her private parts had sores.

“She was taken to a health post where she was diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections and later the matter was reported to police where investigations revealed that the girl was abused by her stepfather and her stepbrother,” police deputy public relations officer Danny Mwale said.

The victim is currently admitted to the hospital where she is undergoing treatment while the two suspects are under police detention.
