Zambia Army Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, Major General Geoffrey Choongo Zyeele has flagged off the recruitment of Special Forces candidates at Mushili Barracks in Ndola.

The Deputy Army Commander flagged off the selection process by firing in the air which sent the hopeful would-be commandos on a race to achieve their career goals.

The Chief of Staff, in the company of Special Forces Group Commander Brig Gen Charles Swana and 1Commando Unit Battalion Commander, Lt Col Fredrick Mulonda led the applicants through the various staging areas that had been prepared to test the applicants’ physical, mental and emotional strength and endurance.

The event marked the beginning of a three-week exercise aimed at identifying among several shortlisted applicants, the best individuals to make it as Special Forces operators whose motto is “Be brave my heart.
