A DNA report has found that a 41-year-old Zambia Air Force –ZAF- Flight Sergeant accused of defiling his 14-year-old daughter is not the biological father of the child she later gave birth to.

The findings were presented before Lusaka Magistrate KAWAMA MWANFULI by forensic analyst INNOCENT MAKASA.

Mr. MAKASA told the court that DNA tests confirmed the accused, identified as GBM, is the father of the alleged victim.

However, the tests excluded him as the biological father of the victim’s baby.

He explained that the DNA results could not determine whether the accused had carnal knowledge of the victim.

Mr. MAKASA said this is because pregnancy does not occur in every case of sexual intercourse.

Meanwhile, the accused told the court that the DNA findings support his claim that he was not responsible for the pregnancy and did not have carnal knowledge of the victim.

He further stated that the victim and her mother were away in August 2024, when the alleged offence is said to have taken place.

The paternity test was conducted at the request of the accused.

Magistrate MWANFULI has set July 8, 2026 as the date for judgement in the matter.
