The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has reassured motorists of sufficient diesel reserves at Tazama Petroleum Products Limited’s Ndola Fuel Terminal, ready for distribution by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
James Banda, the Acting Chairperson of the ERB, has negated any concerns regarding a diesel shortage in the nation.
He has clarified that the ERB has instructed OMCs to procure their diesel supplies from INDENI Energy Company Limited, in adherence to licensing stipulations that mandate constant product availability at their nationwide retail outlets.
The ERB Acting Board Chairperson said INDENI has further received directives to guarantee swift diesel distribution to prevent sporadic availability within the retail network.
Banda also emphasized the ERB’s vigilant oversight of the fuel distribution framework to promptly tackle any arising issues, ensuring that OMCs maintain a consistent diesel presence at retail locations.
