𝐿𝑢𝑠𝑎𝑘𝑎, 𝑇𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑑𝑎𝑦 30𝑡ℎ 𝐽𝑢𝑙𝑦, 2024.
Following the ongoing investigations being carried out by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) into alleged illicit ownership of properties by the former First Lady, Mrs. Esther Nyawa Lungu, the DEC under the Anti-Money Laundering Investigations Unit (AMLIU), has formally seized a property which houses two (02) Double – Storey Flats situated in Ibex Hill area in Lusaka District in Lusaka Province.
The seizure of the subject property is pursuant to Section 71 (1) of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act No. 19 of 2010 of the laws of the Republic of Zambia.
The DEC is working round the clock to ensure that investigations into this matter are professionally and judiciously carried out.
