Phiri revealed that she initially joined boxing simply to keep fit, never imagining that the sport would eventually transform her life.
“At the beginning, I was just a girl with a funny tough story,” she shared.
According to the boxing icon, someone noticed her potential at a time when female boxing was not popular in Zambia. Despite facing countless challenges, painful training sessions, defeats, and even dangerous moments abroad, Esther Phiri refused to give up on her dream.
