Former World Female Boxing Champion ESTHER PHIRI has welcomed the initiative
to stage local title fights aimed at making the sport competitive.
PHIRI says having boxers fight to be crowned national champions will make boxing competitive after a long spell of having vacant titles.
She further told ZNBC News that all boxers are geared and are giving their best in training.
And Exodus Boxing Academy Director CHRISTIAN KALIMA said the tournament organizers are still racing to raise part of the money needed to successfully stage the event.
