Extend April school holiday teacher urges government

GRZ MUST EXTEND SCHOOL HOLIDAY – HAAKALOBA

An Educationist in Mazabuka District has asked Government to consider extending the April school holiday to 14 days.

Andrew Haakaloba who is a Teacher by Profession tells Byta FM Zambia News that the Ministry of Education should consider extending the school holiday to 14 days in order allow parents prepare adequately.

Haakaloba says the seven day holiday will inconvenience the parents in terms of mobilizing resources.

He adds that an extension of the holiday will also help teachers to rest and prepare for the reopening of the school.

He says pupils also need time to rest hence the need for extension of the holiday period.

Schools are set to reopen for the second Term on Monday the May 6, 2024.

Schools earlier delayed to open for the first term due to the cholera outbreak.
