POLICE have arrested and charged a 36 year old Garden Boy of Barlaston in Lusaka for sexually abusing his 2 year old biological daughter.

Allan Sangwenji has been charged for the offence of incest, contrary to the Laws of Zambia, and will appear in court soon.

Brief facts are that the suspect called his neighbour on Wednesday at around 18:00 hours to assist in checking his daughter as he stated that she was burnt on the private part.

The neighbour, Chanda Kayula inspected the minor and discovered that she had bruises on her private part, with a whitish discharge coming out, after which she offered to take her to the hospital for medical attention.

She informed the Mayor of Kafue District Buumba Malambo about the matter, who later teamed up with the officers from One stop Center and Young Women’s Christian Association.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga tells Byta FM News that the minor was then picked and taken to the hospital where medical examination was conducted.

He says the minor has since been taken to a safer home in Kabwata.
