Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Malambo, Faith Lungu Bury (FLB 1), is concerned over the flooding situation in Jumbe and Chikowa areas of Mambwe District, Eastern Province.
She observed that the rising water levels have disrupted livelihoods, leaving communities in distress.
Lungu said the floods present a serious threat to food security as crops have been destroyed.
She stressed the urgent need for government and stakeholders to provide relief support.
Lungu further noted that long-term measures must be put in place to prevent recurring disasters in the district.
