HEAVY rain characterized by lightening has claimed four heads of cattle belonging to an individual in Zimba’s Simwatachela Chiefdom on 25th December, 2023.
Owner of the animals, Levy Mbandama, tells Byta FM News that the news of the fatality was made known to him by his 13-year-old son who noted that the cattle died at an instant.

He says when he went to check what had transpired, he found his animals lifeless.
In an earlier interview, Mapatizya Member of Parliament, Emeldah Munashabantu, had cautioned her constituents to take precaution against heavy rains characterized accompanied by lightning.
She advised against standing under or near trees when it is raining.
