Give Kalaba privacy – UTH

THE University Teaching Hospital (UTH) has appealed to the public, particularly football fans, to respect Rainford Kalaba’s privacy during his hospitalization.

Kalaba, 37, a former Zambia national team player and 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) winner, was admitted to UTH on Saturday after a car accident along the Great North Road.

UTH public relations officer Nzeba Chanda emphasised the need for limited visitors to ensure Kalaba’s well-being

Chanda said the institution cannot allow every person to visit the patient in his state.

“We just want to appeal to the public if they can give him a little privacy and just allow the doctors to do what they want to do.”

“So for any updates from UTH, my office is open so there’s no need for us to be dramatic about us coming here I know we are working together, we are an institution, we need to update the nation, so let us just follow the right channel whenever we need information. When time comes, will let you know,” said Chanda.

This message comes amidst public concern for Kalaba’s health following the accident. UTH prioritizes both Kalaba’s recovery and the need to keep the public informed through official channels.
