Renowned Professor and medical practitioner, Prof. Lupando Munkonge has passed away.

Prof Munkonge was once Head of neonatal and paediatric surgery at the University Teaching Hospital.

He is also the founder and proprietor of the longest running private hospital, Hiltop Hospital in Ibex Hill area.

Prof Munkonge was also Vice Chancellor to the Apex Medical University, a university that they co-founded with other veteran doctors such as the late Minister if Health, Dr. Joseph Kasonde, and Prof. Everist Njelesani.
