Zambian boxer Catherine Phiri has dismissed social media reports that she was admitted in hospital following the loss of her fight over the weekend.

In a Facebook post seen by ZED GOSSIP, Phiri thanks her fans for the support and says losing any match is normal.

She wrote;

Good evening Zambia. I hope you are all fine, just a message of appreciation concerning the fight. I am really greatful for the overwhelming support and encouragement before and after the fight, without you then my career is nothing, you showed up in great numbers. Just to assure you and let you know that I am perfectly well and in good condition resting at home, all the rumors circulating are fake! I was never admitted to any hospital, losing is something normal in sport. If we are all supposed to win then it wouldn’t be sports.
