…says citizens can do “replacements” too
Government, through the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal security has officially announced the operationalization of three new offices in Lusaka for issuance of National Registration Cards (NRCs) in a bid to decongest Boma and Kabendekela offices that had been offering the services.
Public Relations officer at Home Affairs, Collins Hikalinda announced Kalingalinga behind the police post, Matero at the Community Center and Chilenje at Council offices as centers that are currently offering the services to the public, away from headquarters and Kamwala.
He said, funds permitting, the department of NRCs and passports would open new offices in Chawama, Showgrounds and Chelstone, as well as extend the decentralization of the offices to other provinces.
Hikalinda said the idea is to bring the services closer to the people, stating that citizens can equally do a replacement of NCRs at these new offices without much of a hustle.
Hikalinda said this in a statement to the media, Tuesday afternoon.
