Kanyama Councilor donates 70 coffins in move aimed at easing residents’ funeral burdens

CIC press team’s Jack Makayi reports that residents of Kanyama Ward 13 in Lusaka are set to benefit from a donation of 70 coffins by their area Councillor, Leonard Chello who endeavours to help ease the financial burden that come with funerals.

According to Makayi, Chello said the initiative is intended to support vulnerable families during times of loss, noting that burial expenses remain a major challenge for many households in the community.

And according to Councillor Chello, by providing coffins free of charge, he hopes to offer immediate relief to those who may otherwise struggle to afford dignified burial arrangements.

CIC reports that Chello has since urged residents in need of assistance to visit his office, where the coffins will be distributed to qualifying individuals within the ward.
