Residents of Kasempa District have sent a clear message to the political class, demanding leaders who prioritize community needs over personal interests.
This outcry reached a peak during a visit by Ronald Lweleka, an aspiring candidate for the Kasempa Council Chairperson seat, who toured Kikonkomene area to engage with locals and assess their challenges firsthand.
During the engagement, residents expressed deep-seated frustration, claiming they have been consistently ignored after casting their votes in previous elections.
The residents informed Mr. Lweleka that for years, they have endured poor roads, the absence of a market and an inadequate water supply in the Kikonkomene area of Kikonkomene Ward.
They also called for the construction of a clinic and a school to accommodate the area’s growing population.
The atmosphere shifted from frustration to hope as residents welcomed Mr. Lweleka, describing him as a mature politician with a heart for the people and strong leadership qualities.
Many locals vowed to support his candidacy, believing he possesses the vision necessary to change the face of Kasempa.
The community expressed confidence that his local roots would translate into a more empathetic and effective leadership style.
In response to these concerns, Mr. Lweleka expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and struck a chord of personal commitment.
Having been born and bred in Kasempa, he emphasized that his bid for the chairperson seat is driven by a genuine desire to see his hometown thrive.
