What makes this exciting?
Well, if you’ve followed the supposed ‘beef’ between ChileOne and Yo Maps (the beef I am made to believe only exists among fans, and not the artists themselves), you will have a real picture of how this situation may play out.

On the side of Yo Maps, there’s a ‘life’ partner who his critics say, should not have been with the talented artist owing to her frequent outbursts. And a supposed international manager who does not miss an opportunity to hit at the artist’s fans. Remember, this partly affected Yo Maps’ performance at the 2022 Kwacha Music Awards that saw ChileOne, bag well over 5 awards, as well as the 2022 Diamond POTYAs awards.

Which personalities are expected to be on the side of Koffi-ChileOne Mafikizolo, Ama Yachi combo? The guy who calls himself Queen B and owns a Salon at Kabwata market, Yo Maps’ ex, who calls herself Kana Kulu, the UK lady that recently had Ndola blackmail scandal sisters locked up and their whole bunch of followers and sympathisers. Remember, the artists on this end, too have their loyal fans. We all know what Koffi can do. This side is hot.

Who is on the side of Yo Maps? His ‘life’ partner, the retiree who is not really retired, the ‘Nakukonda Kamalasha’ hit maker, obviously Slap Dee, many Zambian artists, a horde of ‘jokers’ (comedians), SML, plus a numerous list of social media influencers and their followers. Remember, Yo Maps has a series of hits, plus those he’s about to release. He has his natural followers, just like many of those to headline his show.

Guys, at the end of the day, music is a business. And it sells well where controversy exists. Personalities in group one can be hired to feature in group two. For example, Kana Kulu can switch to support the dad of her child, for the sake of their child or when money is dangled.

In a nutshell, Yo Maps may emerge stronger in the midst of all this musical storm, depending on how he handles the storm. He may not have foreseen this challenge when he coined the Fill Up the 60,000 seat Heroes Stadium, but, it’s challenges like this that introduce kings to the world. This will be dependent on how his team manages this situation.
