The Lusaka Avocado Multipurpose Cooperative Society (LAMCS) has called on its members to ensure that all deliveries of fresh avocado fruits meet international standards.

LAMCS Vice Board Chairman Engineer Patrick Mutimushi emphasised that compliance with export phytosanitary requirements is essential for access to premium markets.

Mutimushi highlighted that achieving a minimum dry matter of 23% is critical to guarantee fruit maturity.

He stressed that farmers must use the correct harvesting tools to maintain quality.

The Vice Board Chairman underscored the importance of coordinated weekly booking and delivery schedules.

He pointed out that adherence to packaging and handling guidelines will safeguard food safety.

Mutimushi affirmed that traceability and proper farm identification are vital to uphold global benchmarks.
