A CRACK like a giant’s whip splitting the sky landed on 46-year-old man from Chipeso village in Mungule area, killing him him in the process.

Robert Chimbwe, died after he was struck by lightning yesterday afternoon around 15:00 hours.

According to police investigations, Chimbwe was herding cattle in the bush when he was struck.

Bystanders found him unconscious with a torn shirt. He was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police deputy spokesperson Danny confined the death.

Mwale said the body awaits postmortem examination and burial at the hospital mortuary.
