Lost husband at UTH, recalls wife name, Diana

IF your name is Diana and married to a Mathews Mwamba who had gone missing since April, your spouse could be the one lying on the sick bed of the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

UTH is searching for the family of the patient, who has been receiving treatment since April 22, 2024.

The patient recently started to talk and he could only remember his name, that of his wife and his area of residence name and Kanyama.

Mwamba was referred to UTH from Kanyama First Level Hospital and has been receiving medical care at EO1 adult hospital where he was admitted on April 22, 2024, in a critical condition.

UTH public relations officer Nzeba Chanda disclosed that his condition has stabilised which has prompted the hospital’s appeal to locate his family.

Chanda revealed that despite Mwamba’s stay, no visitors or acquaintances have come forward.

“From the time he was admitted we have never received any visitor or friend. That’s why we have decided to go on camera because we believe that when you show the camera people will locate him,” said Chanda.

“He’s saying his from Kanyama, he’s saying he’s got a wife called Diana and he has a wedding band which shows that he’s married.”

Chanda appealed to the general public to help in sharing Mwamba’s information so that it can reach his relatives.

“We urge any family members or acquaintances to visit Mwamba at the hospital, as it is vital for his well-being and to facilitate his return home,” said Chanda.
