His death has been confirmed by several of colleagues.

Fellow car dealers who fondly referred to him as ‘Eddie’ have described Simuumba “a people person that respected everyone around him.

“I will always cherish the memories of our chats, meet-ups, and Saturday morning conference calls with our friends in remote areas Augustine Hansamba and others. You had a way of bringing people together and making us feel connected, no matter the distance. You were the kind of person who would call me at any hour, even at 1 am, just to check in or share plans for the day. True Petrolhead, we used to go to any motorsports event, no matter the distance… Your presence will be greatly missed. Rest easy, young boss motors my dearest friend. Sending prayers to that young lady Mrs simmumba. This is really hard for her to swallow. Take care sis. Will always be there for you,” posted a friend, Alex Johnson Mweete.

According to Mweete, Summumba was in good health a day before he died as the two even moved and chatted together.
