Zambian music icon Macky 2 has hailed Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido for what he described as a powerful act of respect and preparation during his performance in Zambia.
In a post that has sparked massive reactions online, Macky 2 revealed that Davido did not just perform at Ciela Resort — he also made a bold statement by showing love to Zambia through fashion.

The “Kopala Swag” hitmaker said this small detail was enough to show that Davido truly respects Zambian fans.

Macky 2 further stated that many international artists often treat African tour destinations carelessly, sometimes even calling countries by wrong names or repeating the same stage talk everywhere they go.
He said such careless behaviour sends a message that fans are “just another stop” on a tour list.
“Abengi ama artists breeze through cities, shouting wrong names and recycling the same stage banter. That carelessness says one thing.. You are just a dot on my tour map,” he wrote.

He added that when an artist makes the effort to understand a country’s identity — such as flag colours, local slang, or cultural gestures — fans connect more deeply.
“When an artist goes all out on the tuma small things… they stop being a visitor and become a guest worth hosting,” Macky 2 wrote.
He stressed that Davido’s outfit was not simply stage decoration but a message of honour and appreciation.
“That detail isn’t decoration. Iyo.. It’s respect,” he said.
