Presidential hopeful Makebi Zulu says his decision to join politics is motivated purely by a desire to serve the Zambian people.

Mr. Zulu said he has not entered politics to portray himself as a savior, but to serve the nation by helping restore Zambia’s democracy and improve the economic wellbeing of its citizens.

He said his leadership would focus on resetting the country through strict respect for the rule of law and by restoring freedoms to the people.

Mr Zulu said this during the spotlight program on Crown TV

Mr. Zulu accused the governing United Party for National Development (UPND) of allegedly using certain laws to curtail citizens’ freedoms.

He further stated that many Zambians are currently facing economic hardships, which he attributes to policies implemented by the current administration.

Mr. Zulu said he believes Zambia needs leadership that is committed to genuine service and that prioritizes the welfare and freedoms of its people.
